EaveWise
How EaveWise works
EaveWise is a FREE service that helps you understand your gutter options and get matched with a licensed, insured local gutter pro. Here’s how it works in four simple steps—while you stay in control.
Step 1: Tell us about your gutters (in plain language)
To get started, share a few details about your home and gutters. We don’t need anything complicated—just enough so we can help match you with a local pro who does the kind of work you need.
In the form, you’ll typically enter your ZIP code, what you want help with (for example: cleaning, leaf-guard/gutter-guard installation, downspout repair or rerouting, seamless gutter installation, or gutter repair/re-hanging), and a rough description of your gutters.
Helpful details include your home type, rough gutter length (or the number of sides/linear feet if you know it), how many stories your home has, and what’s going on. If you’re not sure, that’s okay—tell us what you’re seeing (overflow near corners, sagging sections, slow draining, water pooling, etc.).
Step 2: Get matched free with licensed, insured local gutter pros
After you submit your project details, we’ll connect you with licensed, insured local gutter pros who handle the work you described. This match is FREE for you.
It’s important to know: EaveWise is not a gutter company. We don’t clean, install, or repair gutters ourselves. We help you find the right local professional and make the next conversations easier.
Because pros differ by region and experience, your match may include options for cleaning, gutter guards, downspouts, seamless gutters, and repairs—based on your needs and what’s typical in your area.
Step 3: Compare the scope, guard type, and quote details in writing
When you hear back from matched pros, ask for the quote and scope in writing. A good written scope should clearly describe what’s being done (and what isn’t), the materials/guard type (if you’re considering guards), and how the work will be coordinated.
Gutter guards can reduce cleaning, but they don’t completely remove the need for maintenance. Different guard types trade off differently:
• Mesh and micro-mesh guards are designed to block leaves while still letting water pass.
• Screen and foam/brush-style options can reduce debris build-up, but may still need periodic cleaning.
• Reverse-curve (sometimes called “hood” styles) aims to guide water into the gutter while debris slides off.
If a pro recommends a guard, you can ask what maintenance is still expected and how debris is handled in your climate. If you want help comparing, start with the basics: coverage area, the guard type, how downspouts are addressed, and what the plan is if debris still collects.
Step 4: Choose your pro, confirm drainage, and only then pay
You stay in control. After you compare options, you choose who to hire. EaveWise doesn’t make the decision for you.
Before payment, confirm the key outcome: downspouts should drain away from the house (so water doesn’t pool near the foundation). A pro should be able to explain the downspout routing and how they’ll keep water directed safely.
This step matters for many reasons, including preventing repeated issues like water overflowing from the gutter system or pooling in spots where it can cause damage. If anything is unclear, it’s okay to ask questions before you approve the job.

Common questions
Is EaveWise a gutter company?
No. EaveWise is not a gutter company and we don’t clean, install, or repair gutters ourselves. We help you find and compare licensed, insured local gutter pros based on your needs.
Do you charge me for matching?
No. EaveWise is FREE for you. In general, participating licensed gutter pros pay a flat fee to be matched with customers—your cost and our information stay independent of that.
What details do I need to share to get matched?
A good start is your ZIP code, what’s going on, your home basics (like stories and rough gutter length), and any preferences (like gutter guards). If you don’t know exact measurements, describe what you see and we’ll use your best info.
Should I get gutter guard recommendations in writing?
Yes. Ask for the scope and quote details in writing, including the guard type and what maintenance is still expected. Guards can reduce cleaning, but they don’t eliminate it.
What should I confirm before paying for downspout work?
Confirm that downspouts drain away from the house and discuss the exact drainage plan. A clear explanation in advance helps ensure the work addresses the real cause of overflowing or pooling.
